Amanda Davis

September 2026 Cohort

We are all perfectly imperfect and I truly believe we can embrace our complexities instead of trying to make ourselves smaller or “easier.” Counselling is a space to slow down, get curious, and meet ourselves with more kindness.

My name is Amanda (she/her), and I am in the final stretch of my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, completing my internship with Couch of Hope. I hold two Bachelor of Arts degrees, including an Honours degree in Psychology.

I am also a mom of three and share my home with a very confident retriever who believes boundaries are optional. I understand that what is supposed to be beautiful can sometimes feel like more than we can hold.

I am interested in the patterns we develop over time—those that protect us, those that limit us, and those we do not even realize we are repeating. Understanding ourselves can make things feel more manageable and open space for change. I am drawn to cognitive behavioural therapy for its focus on manageable goals and practical change, and to emotion-focused therapy for its ability to help us understand our many layers and how they shape our day-to-day lives.

Through our work together, I look forward to what you may discover about yourself.
