Emily Taweel
September 2026 Cohort
Hi! I’m Emily (she/her), and I’m so glad you’re here. I’m excited to be joining the counselling intern team at Couch of HOPE. I’m currently completing my Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, and I also hold a Master’s in Sociology.
I bring 6 years of experience working in policy, focusing on areas like gender-based violence, mental health and addictions, and accessibility. This background helps shape how I understand people’s experiences, with a deep respect for the strength and resilience everyone has.
I strive to support you in ways that feel meaningful and empowering. My goal is to meet you with openness, empathy, and authenticity, so you can feel safe to share your story and show up as who you are. My practice is grounded in strengths-based and person-centred principles. I draw on humanistic, internal family systems, and cognitive-behavioural therapy approaches.
I’m really looking forward to connecting with you and supporting you along the way.
