Jason Tucker

Practicum Supervisor

Jason Tucker (he/him) is a compassionate clinical therapist with a strong foundation in youth work and public service, including past service as a Canadian Armed Forces reservist. Jason holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Waterloo and brings diverse experience across secure treatment settings, community outreach, wellness court, inpatient care, and student services. He currently works in both private practice and within the provincial health system.

Since joining the Couch of Hope team in January 2025, Jason has brought over six years of experience supervising counselling interns. He specializes in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), supporting clients—particularly Canadian Armed Forces members, veterans, RCMP members, and individuals with ADHD—in cultivating psychological flexibility and living in alignment with their values.

His approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, and he continues to expand his expertise through ongoing training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Jason is also an active board member of the Atlantic Chapter of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS).
